Your privacy is important to us. At Piik Insights Inc. (“Piik”), we have a few fundamental principles: + We don’t ask you for personal information unless we truly need it. + We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights. + We don’t store personal information on our servers unless required for the ongoing operation of one of our services.
Visitors and Users
Piik collects non PII of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Piik’s purpose in collecting non PII is to better understand how Piik’s visitors use the Service and the Sites. From time to time, Piik may release non-PII in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of the Service and the Sites. Piik also collects potentially PII like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. Piik does not use such information to identify its visitors, however, and does not disclose such information, other than under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses PII, as described below. We may also collect and use IP addresses to block users who violate our terms of service or our license agreement.
Gathering of PII
Certain visitors to the Sites and users of the Service choose to interact with Piik in ways that require Piik to gather PII. The amount and type of information that Piik gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. Piik collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of their interaction with Piik. Piik does not disclose PII other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply PII, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Service-related activities. Additionally, some interactions, such as posting a comment, may ask for optional personal information. For instance, when posting a comment, may provide a website that will be displayed along with a user’s name when the comment is displayed. Supplying such PII is completely optional and is only displayed for the benefit and the convenience of the user.
Piik may collect statistics about the behaviour of visitors to its Sites and users of the Service. For instance, Piik may monitor the most popular parts of the Piik Sites. Piik may display this information in the aggregate publicly or provide it to others. However, Piik does not disclose PII other than as described below.
Protection of Certain PII
Piik discloses potentially PII and PII only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Piik’ behalf or to provide Services, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by accessing or using the Service, you irrevocably consent to the transfer of such information to them. Piik will not rent or sell potentially PII and PII to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, Piik discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only when required to do so by law, or when Piik believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Piik, third parties or the public at large. We primarily use our website and blog to communicate this type of information.. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. Piik takes measures reasonably designed to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially PII and PII, but there is no guarantee of confidentiality.
If Piik, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Piik goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Piik may continue to use your PII as set forth in this policy.
